Ceftriaxone+ Sulbactam is a category of drug known as ‘antibiotics’ that is prescribed for treating bacterial infections. Bacterial infections arise due to the growth of harmful bacteria within or on the body. These bad bacteria develop chemicals called toxins, which hurt tissue and cause you to become ill. The symptoms of the bacterial infection depend on the organ infected with bacteria.
Ceftriaxone+ Sulbactam is a drug combination of two drugs: Ceftriaxone and Sulbactam. Ceftriaxone is related to the category of cephalosporin group of antibiotics. It is bactericidal (kills bacteria). It acts by inhibiting the development of the cell wall (the outer protective layer of bacteria that is needed for its survival) by inhibiting the synthesis of proteins. Sulbactam stops beta-lactamase action. Beta-lactamase is an enzyme that is secreted by bacteria and is capable of inactivating antibiotics (ceftriaxone).
